I just bought recently a Fender’s new all-solid-wood CD-140S dreadnought that is crafted with the kind of stylish looks, smooth feel and full, resonant tone you’d expect from much more expensive instruments. I was so amazed with its features like a new tortoise shell pickguard and mother-of-pearl rosette design, rosewood bridge with compensated Graph Tech NuBone™ saddle, aged bridge pins with black dots, mother-of-pearl Fender logo headstock inlay, and smaller (3 mm) dot fingerboard inlays. Features scalloped X bracing, 20-fret rosewood fingerboard, dual-action truss rod, and die-cast tuners.
Fender CD-140S may not be a high-end guitar like Taylor or Gibson, BUT IT PLAYS LIKE ONE. And for what it's worth, this guitar may be considered a real wonder because of its very wonderful and powerful sound to it, and a truly amazing sound that plays better than any guitar in its price range. This guitar is my new best friend and I think we'll go a long, long time.

I bought this guitar in February having tried various dreadnoughts including more expensive Ibanez and Tanglewood models, and am more and more pleased with it every time I pick it up. Mark's title (Exceeded Expectations) is spot on. Every guitarist knows how good it is to pick up an instrument which feels just right and wants you to play it - this is it for me! It’s really lightweight and manageable, and the finish is flawless – the grain on the mahogany back and sides is gorgeous.
Although it was new it had clearly been played a lot in the shop as the strings were a little sticky and the fretboard a bit greasy, so I cleaned it up with a microcellular cloth and replaced the strings with the recommended Duratone 880L strings. These give a lovely bright singing tone, much louder than I expected, and oh what a joy to play! Great low and easy action - pieces I've struggled with over the years are suddenly easy and flowing. I am now a fan of satin finish necks which, for me, let the hand slide more easily. Finally and importantly, this guitar has excellent tuning and stays in tune, better than even my Baja Tele. Thank you again Fender!

My husband purchased this guitar for me as a Christmas present! It has exceeded my expectations of what a good guitar should be! The neck is perfect for my small hands! Beautiful tone and sound and it is easy to play! This guitar is awesome! I highly recommend this guitar!

When I made my purchase I went into the store with an open mind. I knew what I was looking for but did not have a specific brand in mind. I had tried out the CD-140S and compared it to various Epiphones, Yamahas, and some other Fender products. - I kept coming back to the CD-140S. The tone was exactly what I was looking for.
The fit and finish is absolutely amazing on this guitar. The frets are perfectly placed on the fretboard, better than they were on my Stratocaster when I bought it. All I had to do when I got it home was adjust the truss rod just a hair. The action is perfect. This guitar is a great value, sounding as good or better than some more expensive guitars that are out there - I actually spent a couple hundred dollars less than I planned because this guitar gave me exactly what I was looking for at a pretty amazing price.
