The Fender Select Stratocaster® HSS Exotic Maple Flame guitar certainly lives up to its name, with an atypical and highly distinctive wood figure in its flame maple top. No two instruments are identical, and the swirling, almost marbled quality of the flame wood figure is highlighted to even more beautiful effect by the guitar’s satin nitro-lacquer finish in Bing Cherry Burst. An exotic creation indeed, it launches the Fender Select series into 2014 with more style and performance than ever, including a striking “channel-bound” birds-eye maple fingerboard with a compound radius (9.5”-14”). This inlaid fingerboard design imparts an elegant appearance and an amazingly comfortable fretting-hand feel in which both edges are pleasingly rounded, with no side seam between neck and fingerboard.
Other premium features include a comfortably contoured neck heel on the alder body, rosewood neck with thick “modern C” profile and hand-rubbed oil finish, 21 medium jumbo frets and black pearloid inlays, single-coil Fender Select Stratocaster guitar neck and middle pickups, Twin-Head Vintage humbucking bridge pickup, five-way switching, three-ply parchment pickguard and aged white control knobs, Bi-Flex™ truss rod system, two-point synchronized tremolo bridge with bent steel saddles, deluxe staggered tuners, Micro-Tilt™ neck adjustment and Fender Select headstock medallion. Includes Fender Select tweed case, guitar strap, cable and polishing cloth.

As I saw this guitar it was love at first sight. It is beautifully crafted and sounds sweet and smooth, plenty of harmonics. The rosewood neck feels great in your hand and the contrast with the maple fingerboard is unique. The Bing Cherry Burst finish is really charming and makes this guitar shine. This Strat is truly a piece of art, a dream come true. Great job Fender!

This guitar is obviously a highlight in the 60 years of Fender Stratocaster history. Craftmanship and sound is made in heaven! To all others electric guitars companies, just one advice, surrender and follow the leader-FENDER!

First off the neck and fingerboard on this guitar is enough to make you want to buy it, but on top of that the Flamed Cherry maple top is sooooo Gorgeous in person. When i received the guitar i couldn't dig the strings so i added .11 daddario EXP's to it and when i went to tune the guitar there was too much stress on the tremolo springs so i had to add a 4th spring in the back which was no big deal and fixed the problem. When plugged in this guitar has a great tone for the neck single coil and middle single coil pickups, but the sound of Bridge humbucker when plugged into any of my Fender or Marshall Tube Amps is AMAZZZZZZZZZZZING for all kind's of Music from Blues, jazz, classic rock,Reggae, to Metal. If you want a guitar that will be unique and head turner this is the one.

I have been playing for 7 years now and this is my first Fender product. I have to say I am impressed. I have always bought online, and this is the only guitar that has been setup correctly without any issues straight out of the box. No fret-buzz, correct intonation... perfect.
The second I saw this guitar I knew I had to have it; the rosewood headstock and maple fingerboard jumped out at me, beautiful and unique. Previously I have always gravitated towards Gibson, and have only ever played Gibson and Ibanez guitars.
When I opened the case, the first thing I noticed was the birds-eye maple neck, it is very highly figured and looks absolutely stunning. Pictures really don't do it any justice.
The rosewood neck is my favorite feature, it feels great in your hands. Playability is better than anything I have played before, and tone is exactly what I was hoping for. It sounds amazing.
I think this is limited to 300 pieces, so I feel very fortunate to own one. I hope others get a chance to see and hear this thing in action. Fender have done an amazing job, truly a piece of art well worth the money.

I've been playing my 1977 Strat for years and was looking for a new friend, I won't mention who but her initials were GLP. I saw this new Strat and thought I better give is a look and a go before venturing into the 'other world'. One word: WOW! If you're looking for a new love with punch, growl, enunciation, softness, feel, clarity, and beauty, look no further. This piece of art has it all!

The 2014 Select Stratocaster is so amazing that I can't believe my luck and fortune. I look at this guitar and instantly feel that some day it will be spoken with the same esteem as the 1959 Gibson Les Paul. It's stunning in every possible way I can imagine. And set up so nicely. The mahogany neck with birds eye maple inlay is so unique and gorgeous. This guitar is outstanding. The sound is to die for. It's been 24 years since I bought my last guitar. Fender has just sent the Stratocaster into outer space, and I can't believe I own one. I'm so happy.
