A veritable racecar of a bass, the Jazz Bass® guitar was born in the '60s and became the favorite of players who put as many miles on the instrument as they did on their tour buses. The more it was used (and abused), the more it growled back and became even more comfortable. Fender's Road Worn® '60s Jazz Bass guitar delivers that aged look and feel. Designed with '60s specs, including a nitrocellulose-lacquer finish, and built to look, sound and feel like it's got more than just a few miles on it.

I've owned mine since the 1st production year. It is the 3TS model. I had it set up by my luthier but I do that w/ every bass as I prefer low action which generally requires fret dressing and nut filing. I also had to move the bridge a bit to the g string side for alignment, which I did myself. My other personal preference was installing Thomastic flat wound strings (JF344). Once I was done setting this bass up I owned a real gem and it became my #1 bass. The reason I love this bass is the neck. It has that slightly rounded soft U shape of a mid 60's jazz I once owned and it is very comfortable and fast. I can play this for days w/o the hand fatigue that sets in w/ the very thin C shaped necks. I've been performing live and in studios for 43 years and these RW basses are real value once you set them up properly. The tone is pure vintage jazz bass w/o paying thousands of dollars for the real pre-cbs deal. It's also very light, balances perfectly, and extremely comfortable.
