The Super-Sonic series: High-performance, no-nonsense tube amps that create unmistakable Fender clean tones and expressive modern high-gain tones without masking the tonal character of the player’s guitar. The new 100-watt Super-Sonic Twin combo contains several sonically versatile new features, including an Arena/Club switch that takes the power down to 25 watts (to preserve its great high-volume tube tone at lower “club gig” volume levels); a Notch Tune control that lets you move the midrange notch and fine-tune the distortion characteristics for a variety of American and British amp sounds; a rear-panel damping control that lets you select “normal,” “loose” or “tight” speaker response for sounds ranging from warm and loose to tight and focused; and the new Fender Automatic Bias control, which lets you easily set the output tubes to the recommended factory setting and to your preference of “hotter” or “cooler” bias with no need for meters or tools.
Other features include a Vintage channel for shimmering clean tone derived from Fender Twin Reverb® and Showman® amps or the thick, punchy sound of a 1960s-era Bassman amp®; a Burn channel for edgy breakup and distortion with variable compression, thickness and sustain; dual 12” Celestion® Vintage 30 speakers; tube-driven Fender long-spring reverb; effects loop with level control that also works as a footswitch-operated boost; custom Schumacher transformers; and a choice of Black/Silver or Blonde/Oxblood cosmetic treatments. Cover and pedalboard-friendly four-button footswitch included.

This amp has beautiful in your face sounds on all settings. The twin sounds better than my old vintage twin reverb and the bassman settings sounds better than an actual bassman. The gain and notch channels allow any type of overdrive or distortion that beats any pedal straight up. The gain 2 setting is like a sustain/comp. This amp even sounds good with a long chain of pedals in front—no need for distortion or overdrive pedals though. Although I do love the sound of the analogman nkt old fuzz with this amp. The only minor flaw is the reverb tank adds slight hiss but I think that is for most amps. Also, be very careful because this beautiful amp weighs a lot! Luckily for now, it is more of a studio amplifier but will shine in any club or arena. I also like the fact that I don't need to use all 100watts of power and the extra biasing and speaker settings. Best amp... I got an awesome deal with MUSICIANS FRIEND. I paid about $1600.

This is my first Fender amp. I've generally owned Marshall, Orange and Engl amps (and still do). I actually noticed this amp because a band I played with were rocking them and sounding massive, heavy, detailed and going from vintage sounds to modern without loads of rack gear. The blonde and oxblood is gorgeous. Even if the amp was awful that's one sexy looking amp! This amp is very compact for a twin speaker combo in size, but it weighs far more than most other rivals. In terms of moving it around, the weight may impact you if you are older or have back issues. The twin does have 4 castor wheels but they are a bit rubbish and the amp will tilt if you mis-align the wheels. It might be better with the Vox 3 handle setup given it's nearly 38kg in weight (I'm pretty strong and have some road crew help but it's heavier than my Marshall stacks!)
In terms of upsides - the sound, first up. I've played it against some boutique hand-made amps and I've really struggled to hear a difference. This is a proper tube powered monster. The adjustable bias and dampening means you can make it fairly modern or fully vintage (it won't do ultra-modern metal but then I use my ENGL for that hi-fi sound). Although I generally prefer modern sounds, I've found myself using the loose dampening and getting my vintage vibe on. I've played Gretsch Falcons, Fender Strats/Jazzmasters/Jaguars and some more obscure guitars through this and it handles their differences, enhancing the 'electric static' vibe without masking the actual guitar sound. The twin and bassman clean channels seem accurate and are full of life. The Burn channel is better than you'd ever expect - don't assume Fenders can't do harder rock tones. It's very alive and crackles with tone.
The reverb tank hums/pops - the rear panels are flimsy and the auto-bias can show a failing tube when it isn't at all - so it does have flaws - they don't ruin it, but with a little more QC it could be near perfect.

This amp has it all. I've had this amp for almost 3 months now and cannot get enough of playing it. You have two channels the first being a clean vintage channel and the second being a very fine saturated crunch channel with full equalizing adjustments for just about any kind of sound you could want. My favorite though is channel one which has a very clean fine quality "vintage fender tone" that cannot be duplicated with any other kind of amp. There are no limits with this amp being that it contains two very high quality sounding Celestion Vintage 30 12" speakers and packing 100 watts of power. Even though this amp is expensive in my opinion it is well worth the money and you cannot go wrong with it. I've always been a big fan of Fender amplifiers and this one is definitely their flagship.

For the old analogy, if I was stuck on a desert island with one amp this would be it. I have amps with crunch and chime but this is hands down my favorite amp. For classic rock, southern rock, blues and even folk this amp delivers. It takes pedals really well plus it has tons of tonal options built in. I can drop all the way down to bedroom levels and still get over driven sounds without breaking windows or upsetting the neighbors. When you want to get loud you can still get the wall shaking volume that made you want a twin to begin with.
I love the salt & pepper cosmetics - I only wish it had the same knobs that came on my super Sonic 60
