I received this a few days ago as a gift and to say that I was pleasantly surprised was a understatement. I have been playing guitar for 43 years (I'm 55) and have made the switch to Acoustic back in March of this year. I've been using a 1999 Fender DG 20S which isn't nothing to put down at all, but this blows it away in spades I'm sorry to say. First of all, the Mahoghany finish and build are quite a vision to behold. Secondly, the built in tuner works very accurately and the Fishman pickup system as we all know, is the best in the market for Acoustic Guitars, so Fender scores a big 100% on that alone. Now, the sound and tone of this guitar is just unreal to say the least, especially for a guitar in this price range and seeing that it comes with a HS case and a extra Bridge saddle is a welcomed plus as well. You can bet I'll be enjoying this guitar for many years to come, thanks.

I own the 2012 CD-60 cutaway model. It delivers a beautiful tone plugged and unplugged (though plugged is the way to go with this guitar). Everything is carefully made except for the frets and hardware (i would highlight the good job with the neck).
As the title says, is the best sound you can get at an amazing and rather odd cheap value.
This model was a FSR (Fender Special Run) model for the year 2011, so it's bitter-sweet to see it back because it now makes my 2011 model not so unique. But luckily, Fender knows a winner when they build one, and this guitar delivers! Playability is silky smooth, this is a very easy to play acoustic thanks to that nice neck. The fretwork is good, and action was a bit high, but that was easily fixed. The guitar is also a looker, with that nice dark mahogany grain, she looks and feels like a much more expensive instrument. Now to the tone, she sounds beautiful, and packs some volume too! I haven't plugged her in a good acoustic amp, so can't say much about that, but the tuner is a very nice feature! Easy to read, and it also bypasses the pre-amp when you use it which should be very useful in a live performance situation.
Only flaws are the obviously cheap hardware, and my frets are already showing signs of wear after about a year of use. There's some dimples on the first three frets because I do a lot of open chord strumming with this guitar, but I do play her a whole lot.
Yes it has a laminated top, and many get all hung up about that, but this is after all a $300 (or less!) acoustic-electric guitar that includes a HARD CASE! So, laminated top or not, this guitar sounds, and plays great. Nothing comes close at this price. Nothing.
