I have 3 J bass's and 1 acoustic and 1 76 P bass. This Bass is fun to play looks that kill and a sound that is vintage Fender P bass ! I have the Cherry Apple and whenever I'm playing I get tons of questions about my Tele Bass lol ! When I explain that it's a P you can see the quizzical looks on the questioners faces. The sound coming from the Felitron pickup is the classic growl without the distortion. This is a wolf in sheeps clothing, real pretty but has the chops to get it done, as I said when there's smoke there has to be fire and this thing is 5 alarm ! for the price it's hard to beat .

I've wanted to add a P sound to my two J basses for a while, the minimalist design with a twist of '51 P got me to consider it for a start, a couple of youtube videos and reviews left me more convinced about it, and since I have no decent musical instruments store around my area, I had to push my luck and ship it half the planet to my place crossing fingers that the outcome would be worth the cash and the wait, anyway, when I unpacked it, my mind was blown!! the finishing was absolutely fantastic, it looked a hundred times better than the pictures and the videos, the '51 tele neck with reverse tuners is the design detail that I loved the most, and since my living situation is turbulent recently (too much irrelative information, but bear with me please), the only amp I had an access to was a Fender Rumble 15; merely a practice amp, not what I would call a high end one, I plugged it in and when I played it, that was it, I knew for a fact that I didn’t go wrong with this one, the tone of the alder wood / fidelitron pickup combination was much more than what I expected, it makes the Standard P sound too bright, the fat tone around the mid and bass was just after my desire, this one is a gem no doubt
I have one take on it though, and it's probably something to do with shipping and not the factory, when I received it, I noticed a hit mark right over the forearm contour, it affected the finish a bit, not the wood though, it was disappointing, but again, it was probably nothing to do with the fellows in Fender
All in all, this axe is one of the best I've ever played, easily a five-star, I would definitely recommend it

The finish of the alder wood on mine was just fantastic no bubbling, scratches or unfinished details. Only complain was a loose knob easy fix but where is quality control?
The combination of the maple telecaster neck with vintage tuners is a wonderful detail the chunky neck feels good reminds me of my 1957 reissue p bass it just makes it feel high quality and i think the additional massing helps eliminate any dead notes. The neck pocket has a unique chamfer detail i thought it was a mistake but it is typical from what i have read.
Now the fidelitron pickup is a star for me i play classic rock and worship music and all my notes are clear with no overtones, the definition is very clear even with cheap amps. The overall design, sound and shape is a knock out. I wish the pick guard could be removed but that is just me; unfortunately there is a hole for the cn machinery.

This is a 51 Precision Bass shaped guitar plus the left arm cut. It's typically a Precision for the playability, neck a bit large but finally easy to play with "normal" sized hands. Unplugged sound is comparable with any 51 Precision bass, wood the same and cut too so the only real difference is the pickup and what a pickup! No secret that the fidelitron is a version of Gretsch's filtertron, a humbucking pickup but not too fat. Result on this bass is a sound that stay in the familly of tone of the Precision bass but with a little less brightness and more medium and bass, pretty nice for rock in the Queen of the stone age's way (fuzzy noisy sound welcome!) or for blues or jazz or...well everything. This is the hot roded Precision Bass after all!

First off, I'm more of a guitar player than a bass player. That being said, here it goes.I mostly do home recordings and was looking for a bass. I'm no expert on the bass, and I have no opinion on the pros and cons of the various types, styles, etc. I just think it adds so much to the music, no matter what style. I did learn this one is a bit different, having the humbucker pickup, reverse tuners, etc. The bass plays very well, with a comfortable action. Fit and finish was well done. Had to tighten a few screws,no biggie. Also, it came with a gig bag, always a plus. The tone can seem a little uneven at times, but that could be strings, pickup height or whatever. Seems I can make it work for the most part within the context of the song. I don't know if this bass will really catch on, but for my purposes, it works fine.
