I noticed the USB Drive mode in the UTIL (utility) menu on the Fender G-DEC 3. What does it do?
USB Drive Mode allows you to directly access the Fender G-DEC 3’s internal memory from your computer by handling the memory the same way it would handle an external hard disk or USB flash drive. This enables you to drag and drop files such as .mp3’s/.wav’s and saved presets, to and from the Fender G-DEC 3.
To enter USB Drive Mode, first make sure your Fender G-DEC 3 is connected to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Then, simply hold the EXIT button on the front of the Fender G-DEC 3 for a few seconds. The screen will indicate that you have entered Utility Mode. Navigate the Utility Mode menu using the outer left/right arrow soft keys. Once you find USB Drive Mode, you may press either of the two inner soft keys to enter USB Drive Mode.
PC: The Fender G-DEC 3’s memory will appear as a removable storage device in My Computer. Before exiting USB Drive Mode, please be sure to eject or remove the device. To eject the drive, right-click on the drives icon and select EJECT. Once the drive is ejected or removed, you may press the EXIT button on the Fender G-DEC 3 to exit USB Drive Mode.
Mac: The Fender G-DEC 3’s memory will appear as a removable storage device on your Desktop and/or in a Finder window sidebar, depending on your Finder preferences settings. Before exiting USB Drive Mode, please be sure to eject the drive. You can do this by either Option clicking or right clicking on the drives icon and selecting EJECT. Once the drive is ejected, you may press the EXIT button on the Fender G-DEC 3 to exit USB Drive Mode.
