I bought this Affinity Jazz Bass as a go-to practice and travel bass. I own an American Standard Precision Bass and this Affinity is quite comparable. The pickups are strong and differentiated well in tone with little to no hum. I was stunned by the quality of finish on this bass. Set-up was right-on and the neck action and quality of playability is excellent. I have a '72 Telecaster, a P Bass and Strat and none of which are Chinese made but easily the quality and finish on this Affinity is comparable. I have not had it for more than 6 months now but ease of play, tone and hardware are all functioning flawlessly so far. I run it through Fender Rumble and TC Electronics amps and it sounds fantastic. You will not believe you can get this kind of bass for such a low price.

I just picked up one of these in black to replace a Squier P-Bass I'd had stolen from me years ago. Let me just say that the quality and overall finish is so much nicer on these newer Squier products and I thought my P-Bass was nice! Plays so well and love the Jazz Bass tones between the two pickups. Truly a great Bass that I would not at all feel bad about taking to a local gig. At least now I have something to practice with again. I've played a vintage Fender Jazz Bass and I have to truly say that it does play a bit better than this, but you really won't miss most of it for the price especially. Playing it through the Rumble 30 amp for practicing at home, love the features of that amp also with the overdrive. Get this Bass if you are looking for one, don't even think twice, it's a great buy.

I've always wanted a bass to play around with and the Affinity Brown Sunburst model was just to pretty to pass up. I've played guitar for years, but have never played the bass. The electronics seem to be quite good for the price-point. The volume and tone roll off rather evenly without surprise. The finish is great. The neck was perfect and only needed a slight adjustment out-of-the-box before it was rumbling perfectly. I typically practice daily and have to adjust the tuning rarely. I picked up a Rumble 15 for practice and seem to be getting some good tone. I haven't played through a larger amp (or PA), but expect no surprise. Great First Bass. I may have to attempt the 5 string version soon (or the Bronco for arm-chair picking).

It suits all the styles of music that I play from Japanese rock, Pop, even Metal. Great for slower, quieter songs and can really pound out the crunch for the fast paced metal. I use it with my Fender Rumble 15 watt at home and I have yet to find a setting where it is noisy. I'm so proud that my country Indonesia can create a high quality bass with a low price!

In eight years of playing this is the best bass I ever had. Thank you Fender!

Nicest Bass I've Owned For The Price. Decent tone and a whole lot of punch. Not too much noise off the wiring. I love the different sounds you can get for the price. Every other bass I've had in this price range had one tone. Either too dark, or too bright. The Affinity J had a sweet mix of both. On the design note: Don't expect the tuning machines to last too long. I got three months out of mine, then I had them repaired and they lasted a year after that. Just put Grovers on it and it seems to have improved. All around sweet play if you don't mind putting a few more bucks into it.
