It's a shortscale Tele!

(4.0)
CNY Scott on February 23, 2013 (updated February 25, 2013)
Amateur Rock Classic Rock Country

I love Teles but prefer 24 3/4 inch scale - this guitar has it plus it's a Thinline!
It has good weight and balance, not too heavy. Very good tone, good for rock and country music.
The Duncan designed pickups are bright and clear, and I like them.
The tuners are solid but I really, REALLY, wished they had a higher gear ratio!
The finish is very well done. The rosewood fretboard is nice and dark and matches the black body on my guitar well.
I absolutely hated the 6 saddle ashtray bridge, so I replaced it with an aftermarket one.
The maple neck feels nice, but I had to shim mine to get the proper angle in the pocket.
The top-hat knob on the pickup selector switch was too large and got in the way so I swapped it for a regular round tele one.
I applaud Fender for producing a shortscale Telecaster, and I hope they continue to do so in the future.
Now I wish fender would make a shortscale Tele with an Ash body, and a 9.5 inch fretboard radius, but while I'm waiting I still have my cool little Squier to play with!
