I purchased this Squier Bass and was relatively satisfied for what I paid. I hated the tuning keys, though. Everything else about this bass was really good except for the pickguard and tuning keys. I just couldn't believe that Fender would use anything but the standard clover leaf tuners on any of their instruments. The pickguard is a cheaper single ply, but for what you are saving on the overall cost of this bass, you can do what I did and replace it with a better quality one. The body is considerably heavier than the Squier Modified P Bass, which I also own (white body with Black Pickguard/replaced it with a tortoise shell pickguard and now it looks awesome), but it's not a problem for me because I don't use it out live, just sitting down in my small studio. I would hate to have it strapped on me for a whole gig, though. There was no mention of the tuning keys being different than the other Squier basses, so I have learned that you have to ask questions about anything you can't see in a photo. The bass plays and sounds excellent. For the price, even with the cheaper tuning keys, it's an excellent purchase. I guess that's what they thought at Fender. However, an old die hard P Bass man like me, loves the other tuning keys. Surely they can make one as inexpensively as the other. I ended up replacing the entire neck with a neck from a Squier Modified P Bass.

This was my very first bass! I learned everything on it! It has lasted me a good 5 years with lots of traveling on tours and gigging! It is a great starter bass and lots of fun to mess around with!!

i bought mine at guitar center for only $180$ and honestly i believe it is a great value for a guitar
These days I was lucky to get this bass used for 100€ - and got even an transistoramp on top. I like the light weight and the comfortable neck. It's easy to play on and sounds really good for an instrument in this price segment. I'm enthusiastic about it.
