As a guitar player I really enjoy playing the short scale neck, I love the feel of this bass too, I wish there were some more controls on the bass itself, like it's kin bass.

I use it for church mainly and couple it with a bass pre-amp pedal and an Ampeg BA-108. The control offered with those products can really make this bass sound as versatile as the player desires. I really like it and wouldn't trade it for another bass.

I have this and a full scale vint modified jaguar bass. This one I had first and bought new, the other I found used. This one I like for playing. Light and easy to play. I am a guitar player so the short scale seems more "normal" to me when I play bass. At practice, one of the guitar players thought I sounded like I was playing too high on the neck. The short scale has a more pronounced high end on the bass compared to the long scale jaguar. I mostly use the p pickup vs the bridge j style pickup. Mine seems much deeper in town with the P style. I also picked up a bass eq pedal that made it easy to get the short scale to sound like a much BIGGER bass. My amp only had a few knobs for tone. If yours has an eq, that works too.
