Although most know Tony Franklin for his amazing fretless work, he's been doing sessions with the same fretted Precision Bass® for years. Franklin's top-notch fretted signature bass sings just like his fretless model, with Precision Bass and Jazz Bass® pickups and a three-way selector switch that provide an array of great tones. Features include specially voiced pickups, lacquer finish, and modern C-shaped maple neck and fingerboard made to Franklin's specs. Available in Olympic White and Gold Amber.

I already own a Tony Franklin Fretless, completely sold on that neck. I want that neck on everything I own. Well I finally was able to grab a 2009 Olympic white fretted Franklin. ( just couldn't wait for a new one to come in) After a lot of research, questions, opinions, I can say everyone was right, the sustain is killer, the tone is killer, the action is killer, the neck feel is killer, the build quality is fantastic just like my 2012 fretless. So now I have the collection, both tools for the box.

With one tone control and a 3 way pickup switch, you get 3 very usable tones. Neck pickup for rock n roll, both for slap and the J for that jaco tone. Easy to record and fits in a mix with ease. I usually have problems with P necks but this maple neck is a dream to play. Will never part with it. Wish it came in more colors.

Great features on this Tony Franklin bass. The jazz pickup sounds fantastic-loud and punchy and works on it's own to get those Jaco tones. The P-pickup is warm and traditional with a little extra power behind it to make it stand out in the mix. The two pickups together get a great slap or finger style funk tone. The design of the bass is perfect for me. I Love the full size traditional body with 70's features. The 3-way switch works great in live situations when you want to get a different tone mid-song. What really stands out to me is the neck. It feels perfect in my hands, very much like a B-neck, feels very similar to the neck on my '74 Precision. I love this neck and have been searching for "the" neck for some time. I finally found it with the Tony Franklin bass! The fit and finish is a notch above other basses in this price range, a great value in my opinion, in fact I don't think there is a bass that can compete with it if you want this style of bass with these features. If you like a traditional feeling B-neck Precision bass, and want a little more versatility of an added J pickup, this is your bass. I love it!
