TIME MACHINE SERIES OVERVIEW

The Fender® Custom Shop raised the bar with the introduction of the Relic® series. The entire concept of a "reissue" completely changed with that introduction, and we have taken it even further by crafting actual replications using the same techniques and tooling used to create the original Fender instruments of years ago. This is our shrine to our heritage and to the legacy of the people and the name that have made us who we are today.

At the Custom Shop, we often dream of instruments that we would want to own and play. The 1959 Esquire is one of those instruments. We’ve taken this piece of Fender history and added a few features to customize it into one of our favorite Esquires. The sunburst finish covers a hand-selected alder body, and the ’60s oval “C”-shaped neck has a dark rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5” radius and taller 6105 frets. Our own special “Eldred Esquire” wiring puts a lighter load across the entire output of the guitar than a typical Esquire and gives the instrument a half-cocked wah-wah tone in the first switch position. The wiring also includes a Greasebucket™ tone control that rolls off highs without reducing gain.
