The striking 1972 Telecaster Custom is a favorite at the Custom Shop. Introduced back then as an upgraded Telecaster, it featured a humbucking neck pickup designed to make it more of a rock guitar, and the originals were also dense and heavy. We’ve now customized the original design. The hand-selected lightweight ash body features a comfortable belly-cut contour, and the ’69 “U”-shaped neck has a round-laminated fingerboard with a 9.5” radius and taller 6105 frets. The Fender humbucking neck pickup is voiced a little hotter, with a new Twisted Tele® bridge pickup to provide excellent tonal balance. Other features include two volume and two tone controls and the original three-bolt neck-joint design.
