We want video footage of you talking about your Fender instrument—why it is your weapon of choice; why it sets you free; why food just tastes better, why your relationships improve, why the air smells of promise just a little more and why little cartoon birds fly around your head singing sweetly every time you cradle your Fender guitar or bass. Tell us! Sing it from the highest mountain! Use adjectives and stuff!
We don’t want video reviews of our instruments. Not to sound immodest, but we already know our stuff is good.
We don’t want video of you geeking out by rattling off instrument specs. We already know all that stuff, and besides, we’re sleepy enough as it is. We know what the fingerboard radius is, what kind of pickups it has, and what year the wiring insulation changed thickness by, like, ten microns. We already know all that stuff, because we made it!
We don’t want to sit and watch you shred. Please. We want you talking, not the music.
We can’t use video of you playing any material protected by copyright. So if you have that “Spirit of Radio” intro down and that Pantera solo nailed cold, good for you; but don’t send it. If somebody else wrote it, we can’t show it.
