Paramore Kicks off Tour

Paramore

It’s been a busy few days for platinum-selling artists Paramore.

In conjunction with Monday’s debut of their highly anticipated album Brand New Eyes, Paramore performed “Ignorance” on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien and then kicked off a month-long North American tour Tuesday night at the Fox Theater in Pomona, Calif.

According to Rolling Stone, frontwoman Hayley Williams missed the encore, “Misery Business,” after telling the crowd that she had been sick for the last week.  Her band mates invited the crowd to sing the lyrics instead.

Here’s the complete set list, courtesy of Rolling Stone.

“Intro”

“Ignorance”

“I Caught Myself”

“That’s What You Get”

“Looking Up”

“Emergency”

“CrushCrushCrush”

“Turn It Off”

“Conspiracy”

“Where the Lines Overlap”

“Decode”

“Misery Business”

Here’s the performance from Conan… and as you can see, Williams has reverted back to blonde after sporting flaming reddish orange locks most of the summer.

Find out everything you need to know about Sonic Youth in Filter Unbound: The Exclusive, Enhanced, Interactive, Online Authority.

The 80-page digital magazine includes the complete history of Sonic Youth, with commentary from the band and peers like J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr and Mike Watt of The Minutemen.

It also features a complete discography with notes about each album from the band. For instance, of the 1982 Sonic Youth EP, Kim Gordon noted, “Made in two 8-hr. sessions at Radio City Music Hall. The janitor let us in the back door. We wanted it to sound like PiL. We were lucky it came out sounding like a record.”

Gordon also names 1995 album, Washing Machine, as one of her favorites.“It was relaxing to be out of N.Y., recording in Memphis,” Gordon said. “Can’t believe it ever got made. Coko was 8 months old; she met her first Elvis impersonator.”

Reviews of Fender Acoustics

armstrong1.jpg

Fenders acoustic guitars have received a couple of killer reviews lately that I’d like to bring to your attention in case you are in the market for a new guitar.

UK guitar magazine Total Guitar featured the Tim Armstrong Hellcat acoustic, deeming it a guitar that creates a “great sound and ballsy appearance.” The magazine recommends the artist’s new signature model for those who are a “gigging electric/sometimes acoustic player who wants an affordable additional guitar.”

Online magazine Guitar Edge reviewed the Fender Classic Design 360SCE, praising this mid-range priced acoustic for its “good looks, solid sound and fine pickup system,” and suggesting it as a “great step-up electric/acoustic, or a worthy stage guitar for a working musician.” Get the full review now
