Our sincere congratulations go out to Troy Wickman, winner of the recent Fender.com “Shine a Light” Telecaster® Guitar Giveway. Troy was kind enough to share a few photos and had the following to say:
Please accept my heartfelt thanks. The guitar is *greatly* appreciated! I would also like to express my gratitude to Fender, Paramount, and all involved in the sweepstakes. If you can, I would appreciate it if you would pass along my thanks to those who had a hand in this campaign.
Thank you once again!
Enjoy it, Troy!

Robert Cray and Karl Severeid stopped by yesterday to hang out, grab some lunch with us and talk gear. Not a bad day’s work!

Hop over and check out the new Fender University website, just freshly launched last evening. Our first event is Aug. 21-24 and it promises to be full of the stuff lifelong memories are made of. Here’s an excerpt from Fender News:
Held in Fender’s historic Southern California homeland, the Aug. 21-24 inaugural session of Fender University will offer behind-the-scenes access to the company’s manufacturing headquarters and world-renowned Fender Custom Shop in Corona, Calif., to 35 guitar and bass scholars in all musical genres and skill levels age 21 and older from across the nation and around the world. The four-day program will include a series of music workshops, hands-on and one-on-one educational experiences from Fender staff and clinicians, performance opportunities, special guest artist appearances and firsthand insight into the magic of Fender.

I walk by this roadcase every day without a thought. Today it caught my eye and I stopped and really took it in…thought I’d share. (read the text on the tape).
