Pawn Shop Mustang® Bass

Model : 0143900
1,079.99MSRP

Players continue to praise the Pawn Shop Series for evoking the more eccentric Fender creations of the mid-'60s to mid-'70s while delivering thoroughly modern sound and quality with a wealth of various Fender elements. New for 2013, the Pawn Shop Series introduces yet another pleasingly unconventional assortment of "guitars that never were but should have been," in which new models take the stage and long-vanished classics return in modern form.

With its racing stripe and short scale (30"), the new Pawn Shop™ Mustang® Bass authentically evokes the original "competition" Mustang Bass of the early 1970s. This time, though, you get the huge bass sound of a single humbucking pickup (the original had a single-coil pickup) and several classic Fender finish options.

Other features include an alder body, "C"-shaped maple neck, 9.5"-radius rosewood fingerboard with 19 medium jumbo frets, four-ply white pearloid pickguard, two Jazz Bass® control knobs (volume, tone) and a strings-through-body bridge with four adjustable saddles. Available in Three-color Sunburst, Candy Apple Red with stripe and Olympic White with stripe.

Bass of My Dreams

(5.0)

I had been looking for a Mustang for quite some time, and the choice between new ( the only new mustang bass being white) and vintage was a saddening set of choices. I followed this release with great hope and can say it fulfilled my dream and then some. First things first, this bass is LOUD!! I like it better than any P bass I've owned or played and find it a serious alternative to my Rick. It took me a while to get used to the 30 inch scale but it has been worth it. I'd also like to say that contrary to the connotations a short scale carries, I am 6'3, have huge hands, and have played bass for over 10 years. This bass is fantastic for the sound I aim for. In a guitar, bass, drum trio the Mustang fills out the sound with a gorgeous mid range growl.
