the most flexible bass

I up-graded to the Marcus Miller Jazz from a beginners model and I've been playing it for about six years. I also own a 70's fretless, a five string and a semi-hollow-body, as well as an electric up-right. But the Marcus Miller Jazz is the one I use to record, to play gigs and to jam on. The neck / fingerboard is way better than any other bass I've tried. You can dial up any sound and play any style with this. I use the Marcus Miller DR fat beams and recently upgraded to an Aguilar tome hammer 500 and 112 - this brings out even more of the tone range than I used to hear from my 70's Marshall combo. I'd buy another one!

Absolutely the BEST Bass I've EVER Owned!!

I've owned over 1000 basses in the 42+ years I've played. I've owned the best stuff, and some of the average, and this Marcus Miller bass is the BEST bass I have EVER owned. The electronics makes this bass stand out amongst all that I've owned and still own. The playability is stellar! I love the skinny neck, vintage frets, and the vibe this thing has. The only issue I've had with mine is when I got it it had some clear overspray on some of the upper register frets. That didn't take too long to clean off. :-) I can get ANY sound I need out of this bass. I love the active/passive capabilities this bass has. The Badass bridge is the best bridge for this bass, and you can intonate it dead-on. I wish you made a big chrome F cover for the bridge though, but that's because I love that look. I wish you offered it in more colors, like blue or black, and I would prefer it had a rosewood fingerboard. Mine is natural with the maple fingerboard of course. I love this bass so much that I do want to pick up another one, and I will not part with this until I die. Seriously! Good job Fender!!
