I have been playing bass guitar in rock and pop groups here in Australia, part time, for nearly 50 years. I have a collection of over 20 bass guitars which include Fender, Burns, Ernie Ball, Yamaha, Dame, Ibanez, Kramer & a smattering of Korean basses. My Fenders include an American Deluxe Jazz, a Frank Bello custom shop, and a Squier Precision Bass. I have a red Jaguar E Type (XKE) and have always wanted a Jaguar Bass to go with it. When I saw this new model Squier Jaguar in Candy Apple Red metallic, featuring a Stingray style single hum-bucker, brand new in the USA for less than $200, I took the plunge and ordered one from an on-line music store in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. What a brilliant bass! Setup was nearly spot on when landed. I have gigged my Ernie Ball Stingray for several years now, but this new Jaguar creature is just phenomenal. Lovely top quality finish (it is crafted in Indonesia). Incredible vintage punch and bottom end growl, but its on board 3 band active electronics can produce clean, clear top end for slap or cut through when needed. It is almost as good in quality and finish as any other Fender I have played. I am now taking my Squier Jaguar everywhere with me. It is light and not fatiguing for 4 hour stands and versatile enough to suit all of the music styles my band performs (from hard rock to pop/folk to Latin American styles). I am stoked; and have just bought a Fender Modern Player Chocolate-burst Jaguar guitar to go with it.

This was really a great bass. It is my first bass and you don't really know how good of a deal you are getting. From the time of purchase, there is no fret buzz, active pick-ups, there is virtually nothing wrong with this bass. If you are into Fender basses, this one is a need! i have tryed my fair share of Fender basses, but this one takes the cake. Your fingers will just glide over the fret board. Amazing!
