The avalanche of success experienced by Fall Out Boy—Patrick Stump (vocals/guitar), Pete Wentz (bass), Joe Trohman (guitar) and Andy Hurley (drums)—has been and continues to be an industry phenomenon.

It began with the 2005 release of major label debut From Under the Cork Tree, which sold more than 3 million copies. Three hit singles and videos kept the album on the Billboard 200 chart for 72 weeks—“Sugar, We’re Going Down” (number one on MTV’s TRL and winner of the coveted MTV2 Award in 2005), “Dance, Dance” (2006 MTV VMA Viewer's Choice Award) and “Sixteen Candles.” Fall Out Boy was also nominated for a Grammy as “Best New Artist” in 2006. Second album Infinity On High (2007) entered the Billboard chart at number one.

Fall Out Boy’s success has enabled Wentz, the group's leader, spokesman and lyricist, to work on several other projects. Publishing venture Clandestine Industries was launched in 2004 with The Boy With the Thorn In His Side, a journey through the twisted subconscious of a younger Pete Wentz. The book has sold more than 10,000 copies.

Wentz’s creative vision expanded in 2005 when he released a line of T-shirts, hoodies, jewelry, hats and other fashion accessories. Sold online at first (grossing nearly $1 million dollars in sales per year) and produced in small runs, the apparel is now available exclusively at shops in Michigan, California, and Fall Out Boy’s home base, Chicago.

Wentz is also at the helm of Decaydence, an active front-line label in association with Fueled By Ramen. In addition to Fall Out Boy, other bands under the Decaydence and Fueled By Ramen banner include Panic at the Disco, Gym Class Heroes, the Hush Sound, the Academy Is … and Cobra Starship.

As if all this weren’t enough to keep Wentz busy, he also has an independent production company and runs his own one-man DJ company—Hemingway Wentz Inc.—named after his dog, Hemingway.
