A great electro/acoustic + a Strat neck=Win Win

Semi-Professional Blues Alternative Rock Classic Rock

I bought my Stratacoustic several years ago as a retirement gift to myself and it has become my main acoustic guitar ever since, even though I own several more expensive models. The feel of the neck is unequaled for an acoustic due to the famously comfortable Strat neck and the action is perfect right out of the box.The glass fiber back is even more comfortable than the best of the shallow-bowl backed Ovations and allows endless hours of comfortable playing. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars in every category was that when played acoustically, the tone and volume are a bit on the thin side and far from the tone and projection of a dreadnaught. When the guitar is played through an amp you can easily forgive and forget any of its acoustic shortcomings because when put through a good amp it absolutely booms out the most tremendous tones that you could imagine. The size of this guitar belies its ability to ring out heavy bass and mids that you'd expect to hear coming from a D-28 or a SJ-200 plus the highs ring out clearly too. When I plugged into my Blues Jr. for the first time the monster tone that came from it-even from this small an amp-just amazed me.The Fishman electronics do a more than adequate job of turning this guitar into way more than just a pretty face. I wouldn't hesitate for one second to use the Stratacoustic as my main acoustic not only at small intimate settings but due to the incredible fidelity of the amplified tone I would gladly use it at a venue on the scale of Woodstock....should I be so lucky, lol.
