I procrastinated for weeks before finally taking the plunge and ordering myself this little beauty. I'm a strat player by trade and love playing acoustic guitar, so it was important to me that I had a strat type feel to the neck and the 'six on one side' tuners.
Out of the box, the guitar was immediately playable with a very reasonable action and the rich tone made me break out in a grin.
I've had the guitar a few weeks now and the only changes I've made are to drop the bridge about half a millmeter and to fit a hybrid gauge of strings. ( I prefer an unbound G, like on an electric).
I can see myself being as firmly hooked to this acoustic as I am to my '62 Strat and with its solid top it can only sound better the older it gets.
Just one more little thing Fender makers... have you ever considered a maple fretboard for your sunburst models? I think it's one of the rare occasions that a maple f/board would look amazing on an electroacoustic.

This is not the world's most expensive guitar. From design, to electronics to playability it is one of the best! I am floored by the sound of this guitar. Dollar for dollar this guitar represents killer bang for the buck. The fit and finish are of super high quality. The material selection is excellent.

I owned a wonderful Acoustic for many years, but one day, during a tour, it met it's end. I made an emergency call to nearby music shop and we worked out what was appropriate as a replacement, based on quality of wood, neck frets tone, playability.
Unfortunately this guitar looked the part but really wasn't convincing in my hands. Low end tones on the E and A strings tend to bottom out with a bit of buzz, and the action is way to high for even experienced players in my opinion. But, it's a beautiful guitar, and no guitar is perfect from the moment you purchase it. I have rated the playability as 3 stars, but with a professional setup on the guitar it's an easy 5.
So, I played my show with it that night, and it went of without a hitch, in fact the Fishman Presys setup on the SCE had a lot more to offer in the way of tone than my original workhorse acoustic did. I had a fret level done, and had the bridge shaved down a td. A few small adjustments to make sure everything was smoother, and a lighter gauge of stings.
Now it is perfect. One of the nicest looking, sounding and playing acoustics I have owned or played. Wonderful for the price, and don't let the small letdowns turn you away. A quick tweak from a professional will have this guitar playing beautifully and you will not be disappointed.

Have had this guitar for three or four months now and I love it. I bought it for the C shaped electric-like neck (I love my Strat neck) and I wasn't disappointed. It plays and sounds great! I thought I wouldn't like the gloss neck, but I have gotten used to it. The action out of the box was incredible! Lower than my LP. It came with 11's, the only thing I might do is switch to 10's. The tone is great unplugged. Haven't plugged it in much, but it sounds great through my compressor. A ton of crunch. Very happy with this guitar! I love the headstock too!

I have one of these from 2009 in natural finish with gold pickguard (gorgeous man). This guitar is ALMOST excellent. I will explain why. First, i'm doing a review about my guitar, I don't know about the current Kingman's. Being from 2009, my guitar has some little differences. For instance, it doesn't have a solid mahogany back, the top of the tuners are in white plastic. It's just details, nothing big. So, the only reason I don't give it five stars in all parameters are: on the features section, the stock pickup is good and it has a very useful built-in tuner, however it doesn't make justice to the great sound of the guitar itself when is unplugged; on the playability section, the action of the fingerboard is a little too high causing your playing to be uncomfortable especially on the last frets - you should perform a good setup before you play it in order to be acceptable; on the tone section, the same reason that I pointed out on the features, the sound of the guitar is excellent unplugged, but when you plug it to a PA system to play live, the pickup simply doesn't capture the guitar's true sound. If it wasn't for these minor issues, i would give this guitar a five out of five without any doubt. So, if you simply want a great acoustic guitar sound on a medium range budget, this is the one, no doubt. If you're going to play it a lot live - plugged into a PA - well it's not bad, but there are options. Or you can always try to replace the stock pickup to a better one. However for me, since I play it mostly acoustic, it still is one of my favorite guitars.
